I did read (and print) that article, as well as 'little tricks' and 'performance tuning'. Thanks again Sanders, and sorry for the miscommunication. This tutorial includes easy step-by-step information for installing ejabberd on all three Debian versions. I have read everything I can find online and with that knowledge I attempted to give all the information I could. I did my best to identify what I am running. My apologies for not being as knowledgable as you would like me to be. I guess people feel better about themselves by tearing down others. Thanks for your candor.
Wed, 13 Apr 2005 12:52:57 +0000 shipco comment 331 at https://www.ejabberd.im You MUST read immediately How https://www.ejabberd.im/node/163#comment-329
You MUST read immediately How To Ask Questions The Smart Way and How to (and how to not) ask for help.

You must help other people to understand what are you trying to do, how do you are trying to accomplish it, where did you find a problem, and what error did you receive.

'ejabberd 1.4': that's impossible. ejabberd is 0.7.5 now. do you mean jabberd 1.4.X? jabberd and ejabberd are completely different projects.

'users show up under the jabberd.cfg': do you mean ejabberd.cfg?
