ejabberd - Comments for "JID Problem" https://www.ejabberd.im/node/259 en My confusion https://www.ejabberd.im/node/259#comment-524
I hadn't read the Resources page and therefore expected that a chatroom about ejabberd would be hosted on an official ejabberd server. I therefore misread the chatroom page at:

http://www.ejabberd.im/chatroom
Mon, 06 Jun 2005 23:41:35 +0000 James Bowery comment 524 at https://www.ejabberd.im you can't login because the jabber server does not exist https://www.ejabberd.im/node/259#comment-521
<noindex>This website</noindex> is build using Drupal, a Content Management System. Drupal allows account registration. Visitors registered on this site are able to post messages, write book pages, track new content... You registered on Drupal as 'James Bowery'.

Those Drupal accounts are only used to access this website. They are not used for anything else, for instance:

There is no 'demonstration' ejabberd server. www.ejabberd.im is only a website. There is no Jabber server called www.ejabberd.im

The official ejabberd MUC chatroom, called 'ejabberd@conference.jabber.ru' is completely public. You can join it as you can join any other MUC chatroom.

So, your registration on this site looks correct, since it was not intended yo be a valid JID for a Jabber server, anyway.

You can check on <noindex>Resources</noindex> that there isn't an official Jabber server associated with the ejabberd project. Probably you read something somewhere that confused you to think so. Could you please tell me where did you read such a misleading text, so I can fix it?
Mon, 06 Jun 2005 14:32:23 +0000 mfoss comment 521 at https://www.ejabberd.im
