https://www.ejabberd.im/node/466 en https://www.ejabberd.im/node/466#comment-1017 <p>I don't know particularly in ejabberd, but in general, I think that a server has three ways to know that the connection with a client was lost:</p> <ol> <li>The client disconnected the right way </li><li>The client crashed and the operating system closed the TCP connection </li><li>The operating system crashed or the connection was lost.
