I thought that's because LDAP users don't need to register.

It works for the non-LDAP "guest" server though:

In WebAdmin you can see the Last Activity of the registered users.
http://localhost:5280/admin/server/ldap.localhost/users/
Those users with "Never" means that never logged in.
