It would be someting else (like what MS done with Internet standards like LDAP etc).
--
Debian is all I need.
Thu, 15 Jun 2006 23:43:50 +0000 Jxn comment 1869 at https://www.ejabberd.im Re: Is there a way to restrict only certain clients to connectin https://www.ejabberd.im/node/856#comment-1799

Etienne Pretorius wrote:

I am interisted in *only* allowing specific clients as in "Exodus" etc to connect to ejabber server. I would like to know if this can be done and if anyone has actually done it?

This is not possible, and it is IMO a stupid feature because clients like JAJC can lie about the client they are. If such a feature appears in Jabber servers, we will get a situation like the web: all clients will pretend they are another client which will make statistics wrong. (cfr. you can access many Internet Explorer-only pages, just by telling the site you are that browser.)
Sat, 27 May 2006 08:10:21 +0000 sander comment 1799 at https://www.ejabberd.im
