ejabberd seg fault when launched

Hello,

I used the binary distribution of ejabberd (ejabberd-1.1.1_2-linux-installer.bin). Running the installer, I got an error message about RPM not registered but all files seemed to be there. ejabberd was already started, but every call to ejabberdctl cause a core dump(seg fault).

Here is the precise problem:
If ejabberd is running, every call to 'ejabberdctl', 'erl', cause a core dump.
If ejabberd is not running, calling 'ejabberdctl start' starts the server, every other call (ejabberdctl alone, erl, ...) cause a core dump.

I'm really puzzled about this. My distribution is a Mandriva updated with the lastest RPM (2006). 'uname -a' give me this:

Linux cvsbox 2.6.11-6mdk-i586-up-1GB #1 Tue Mar 22 15:46:07 CET 2005 i586 AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor unknown GNU/Linux

I've read there might be problems with linux2.4 kernel, but I don't have one. This could be related to this post http://www.ejabberd.im/node/841 but I'm not sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
