I'm looking for some assistance in being pointed in the right direction. I've been running ejabbered for a few years now, and recently migrated ejabbered amoung other services to a new host, and I'm seeing what I think is odd behavior.
I have two static IP's relavant to the server ejabberd is living on.
1.1.1.2 and 1.1.1.10
I set up a DNS entry for talk.mydomain.com pointing to 1.1.1.10 .
If I point pidgin's 'Connect Server' to the 1.1.1.2 or the FQN (FQN resolves to 1.1.1.2). I can connect, however, if i point the client to talk.mydomain.com or 1.1.1.10 I get the error mentioned at the bottom of this post.
For the sake of trial and error I've tried pointing the DNS to an alternate inteface on the box, adding the domains to the ejabbered config, altering the host and resolf conf to properly resolve from itself prior to going to DNS and nothing seems to work. The DNS works fine none the less, I can access the web control panel using talk.mydomain.com, but just cannot connect to ejabbered xmpp using it.
Anyone have any suggestions on what else to try I'm plum out of /search ideas. Won't keep me from using it just going to drive me nuts if I don't figure it out.
Specifically this is the error I see when not using the FQN of the server ejabbered is on:
ERRROR.
