Here's a good question. We migrated from ejabberd 2.0.5 to 2.1.13 some time ago. Everything went very smoothly, so that for that work to make it easier on all of us! Of course, our config is simple, but we started to notice one significant change: We were once able to add users to the roster that didn't belong to our domain. For example, our roster under 2.0.3 (with fictional domain drspud.org) used to allow for this:
But now with the newer version of ejabberd, a push_all_roster command (after emptying the contents of the roster database) fails to load the roster if other domains are present in the file. The offending entries must be removed. I was unable to find if this is now by design, or if I'm missing an extra item in my configuration that would allow this again. This server is open to external connections from other servers.
