So, I am considering possible deployment scenarios able to accommodate such load. E.g. while P2P-only solution would be just perfect, but it is impossible because of NATs. Use of out-of-band pipes is probably a better solution, but it hits SOCKS5 proxy hard, etc etc
Theoretically, if compressed, 30.000 Bouillon user xmpp streams would fit into a gigabit pipe.
Practically, the question: how many users ejabberd may serve assuming 10 or 100 stanzas per second per user?
