Hello folks,
I have set ejabberd on a centos VM and I utilized "extauth_program" which basically uses .htpasswd style file. It also uses mnesia for other metadata.
So I want to make this server redundant. I have been reading the manual which is not quite detailed. So I want to set different VM on a different network, say on another continent. Is it possible to use clustering this way?
Can someone point me in the right way please?
I see the manual says the servers are supposed to be on a same network. Is there any other way to achieve redundancy then? Thanks!
Cluster nodes on ejabberd
Cluster nodes on ejabberd Community edition are supposed to be on the same network because it assumes that it is based on a reliable low latency link for synchronization. This is by design if ejabberd Community clustering engine.
Note that ejabberd Business Edition use a difference clustering code and can do Geographically distributed cluster.
