Hello rastkojokic,
I am searching for the same thing, but I've found this, , it is an XMPP Mobile Client, it handles "read" cases, I've tried is and connected to a local ejabberd 16.04 server using two Android phones, "read" feature worked, But I think that it's implemented on the client side only, maybe using a predefined message format...
The Good News is that this app is open source, check here
