How do you get the server to authenticate the users? I cannot find that information anywhere.

Authentication is automatic
How do you get the server to authenticate the users?
It's done automatically, so you don't need to do anything specific.
How does it work?
I cannot get anyone to authenticate. Am I doing something wrong?

Authentication not working
I have loaded the Linux installer for the server on my Linux server and it appears to be working fine. I start the application and go into the admin website. I have created 7 registered users, and two ACLs that point out two of the users. That is all I have done from the server side. I cannot attach to the server from either of the first two clients software I have downloaded from this site (the top two software).
I need to figure out why I cannot attach to the server and why cannot I authentication to the server to start up the messaging sessions.

What do you enter in the Jabber clients for the account settings? Can you ping your server from the computers of the clients? Can you telnet your server from the computers of the clients?
