hey guys，i install the ejabberd in binary installer.i used the mod_muc_odbc replace mod_muc.the data didn't save into the mysql .now my friends say the reason is the i must install ejabberd by source code installer.is he right?what is the diffent bettween them .

Your issue (although probably resolved by now) is unlikely related to the installation method. That being said, the binary installers provide a simpler and faster way to get ejabberd up and running. Building ejabberd via source is more time consuming and difficult and it requires certain perquisites. The benefit of building from source being: the ability to change/customize ejabberd, it's dependencies, and modules.
