shared roster - nicknames without using LDAP

I've got installed ejabberd-2.1.10 and have a small issue. In my shared rosters I created a group with all my users.

What the clients are seeing in their contact list:
- JID_x@whatever.com
- JID_y@whatever.com

What I want is, that they see a customized nickname instead of JID:
- Full Name X
- Full Name Y

Is there any way to do this without LDAP?

Do you have mod_vcard

Do you have mod_vcard enabled? As far as I can tell from source, mod_shared_roster makes use of it automatically (takes nickname).

sorry I am not an expert, how can I check, wether it is enabled? Can I set vcards directly on the server?
