Am trying to configure ejabberd 1.1.2 as an autostart service on red hat linux without much success. I've looked around on these forums and can't seem to find any answers (although a few people with my same question. I'm a linux newbie so it may be obvious to others but itsnt to me :-(
I'm sure many have configured successfully for autostart. What needs to happen? Anybody have the "how to" steps. Thanks in advance.
Solved
Well I figured it out. And I suspect that other linux newbies like me might value the answer which is simple once you know the trick:
Add a line to rc.local to call the ejabberdctl start, similar to
/home/ejabberd1.1.2/bin/ejabberdctl start
