I was installing ejabberd for the first time last night and apparently I screwed the cfg file up. I tried to delete everything and re-install but I think I made things worse. Initially I was able to get it running and access it via the web console. I never did log into the web console however.
I am on CentOS and I installed via yum. I deleted everything related to ejabberd including the /var/lib/ejabberd/spool contents thinking that this would make it better. My question is 2 prong:
How do I completely remove ejabberd and then how do I reinstall it cleanly? I would like to get back to square one, is that possible?
Thanks.
If you tell your package
If you tell your package manager to uninstall ejabberd, it probably only deletes the files it installed. Then you have to remote also the generated files (config dir, mnesia database spool dir, and logs dir). With that you would go back to square one.
And where are those files created? the ejabberd Guide mentions where they are created by default, but maybe your package manager configured ejabberd to install them in a different place.
