Have ejabberd-cluster with two nodes running 2.1.10-2ubuntu1.1 on ubuntu 12.04, all mnesia databases shared
Also mod_shared_roster_ldap used.
New created users see all contacts offline till this contact done reconnect - then he appears online and work fine
Messages deliver fine even to looks offline contacts
May be situation related to described here: http://www.ejabberd.im/node/705
