Ejabberd product is great and there is a wealth of information. However I'm finding it difficult to pinpoint the solutions to problems. Recently I downloaded 1.1.3 linux binaries installed it but couldn't get the client to login. I did all the usual checking configs, firewall settings various different jabber clients. Given the size of the site do you think information might better reorganised by ejabber version? OS environment etc.
Just thinking out aloud..

I agree, there is a lot of information and usually the solution to a problem is already posted somewhere, but it sometimes requires a lot of search (and even luck) to find it. I'll check this topic.
Now on your particular experience: the problem you describe in ejabberd 1.1.3 linux binary installer is well known, so it is described... (let me search)... ah, here :)

As you can see, this page briefly describes the problem, possible reasons, proposed solutions and links to other resources.
How are you expected to find this page? The problem you experience generates error messages in ejabberd log file. If you copy a line of the error message, and use the search function, you will eventually arrive to the above page.
Another way to reach to this page is looking in the links on top: FAQ -> Runtime Error Messages -> badarg, [{ets, lookup, [crypto_server_table, port]}
