how to install ejabberd

I am new to ejabberd, same as linux.

1) Can ejabberd be installed on a windows server 2008 r2?
2) Did I download the correct installer for Ubuntun 12.04:ejabberd-14.05-linux-x86-installer.run?
3) When I read installation and configuration, I didn't see any notes to run this file as the installer:ejabberd-14.05-linux-x86-installer.run

Please help!!

1) Windows installers for new versions of ejabberd are not available. Technically it could be done, but there are so many libraries and dependencies, and Microsoft Windows makes it so difficult... better install or compile yourself ejabberd in a free operating system.

2) Yes, that should work correctly

3) Of course you must run that file. In the Guide it says something like this:

In *nix systems, remember to set executable the binary installer before starting it. For example:

chmod +x ejabberd-2.0.0_1-linux-x86-installer.bin
./ejabberd-2.0.0_1-linux-x86-installer.bin
