I've been looking into getting some JMX style monitoring set up for our EjabberD instances (or preferably, to force JMX onto it outright). Unfortunately monitoring of any kind beyond server status appears to be rather unsupported in any capacity at the moment.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to a best way to proceed with this?

We have plan to provide such a tool. Erlang provide support to SNMP, so you should be able to plug your monitoring console to SNMP values.
JMX direct support is less likely, as we are not using JMX ourselves and it is very Java centric.
