error during install

when running the install script on linux, it tells me there were errors during the postinstall script
the installation never progresses far enough to create a ejabberd.log but there is a sasl.log

* this message repeats several times

=PROGRESS REPORT==== 9-Dec-2007::09:49:22 ===
supervisor: {local,sasl_safe_sup}
started: [{pid,<0.45.0>},
{name,alarm_handler},
{mfa,{alarm_handler,start_link,[]}},
{restart_type,permanent},
{shutdown,2000},
{child_type,worker}]

* then it shows this:

=PROGRESS REPORT==== 9-Dec-2007::09:49:22 ===
application: mnesia
started_at: ejabberd@localhost

* then this "crash report"

=PROGRESS REPORT==== 9-Dec-2007::09:49:22 ===
application: crypto
started_at: ejabberd@localhost

=CRASH REPORT==== 9-Dec-2007::09:49:22 ===

I could send the entire log if it would help

Thanks,

Incompatible libraries?

It seems as if the cryptographic system could not start correctly. Maybe you didn't use the correct installer for your system architecture. Or the binary C libraries included in the installer are not compatible with other libraries in your system.
