i have install the ejabberd-2.0.1 in my production server
i am using ubuntu 7.10 and mysql as auth and storage
when users number reach 1000 the node is down
RPC failed on the node ejabberd@localhost: nodedown
i have insert in ejabberdctl the ulimit -n 3000 but the problem persist ...

I've also installed the new version of ejabberd on Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.0.4) both desktop and server distribution and encountered the same problem. I've installed it from source and using the "linux universal" binary. I've also installed version 1.1.4 via apt-get - again the same problem.
When I checked the logs I've found an error - cannot save disk_log LATEST.LOG master_error application_shutdown - or something like this, can't remember it.
So I had to return to my other machine running PCLinuxOS 2007 and ejabberd 1.1.4
