I've successfully configured ejabberd to authenticate against my LDAP server and also got mod_vcard_ldap working but really looking for a way to retrieve roster data from ldap.
I don't see a mod_roster_ldap module but is really hoping that it's possible to configure ejabberd to read users groups and rosters from a ldap directory (read-only) and that I'm only missing something obvious.
Any suggestions/pointers/modules would really be appreciated!

LDAP is not a place for Roster storage. I'm not sure what goal you are reaching for in such implementation although I do know roster information is normally stored in the Mnesia database of ejabberd. Optionally the implementation is mod_roster_odbc
