ejabberd installation problem - please help

I configured ejabberd on my windows system with apache. when i try to open http://localhost:5280/http-poll it gives the following error message:

"The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://localhost:5280/http-poll'.
can anybody help me with this please.

That location is not intended to open in your webbrowser. It is used for HTTP Polling. So you need a Jabber client to connect to it using HTTP Polling. A few examples of such clients:

hi sander,

i tried installing jwchat with ejabberd. Tried opening it thru http://localhost/jwchat/index.html.html
When i enter the username and password nothing happens and just the same login page appears again. Please help me with this and any ideas for integrating jwchat with my website? Awaiting reply..thanks

I am using IE 6.0 browser. I got this working by wetting the multiviews option for htdocs directory in apache. Now the window appears but an alert box appears with "service unavailable". Please help

i have the same problem. i followed the instructions and http-poll is working as intended. but when i log in just nothing happens - it shows just the login page again. no error messages in log or firebug.

any suggestions?
