Hi there,
I am just messing with ejabberd and OMS and I managed to get them both running on my test machine here. I am just not sure where I should begin and wonder if anyone has any advice.
It seems to work ok with the sample apps in OMS. Is OMS even the right thing I should be using if I want to integrate video chat with ejabberd which is authenticating through my portal website? Or is there something else I should be using?
I don't know if I understand why OMS has its own chat rooms when ejabberd works for that already. Maybe just because it can? Is there no direct integration through ejabberd so it shares the same authentication method?
I haven't been able to quite figure out how to do what I want. Right now I have ejabberd authenticating through the portal software so when users sign up on the website they can then log into ejabberd through the chat page on the website, or through their chat client. However I was thinking I could add a link by their name so they can start a video chat, much like the First application does it where both users have to instigate the chat. And also I wondered if it was possible to have a video chat conference where users could join a group room, like a muc room but with video. Maybe they just have to open up multiple windows to people and they all have to connect to each other manually?
I am not sure I know how to modify it either to do what I want as I don't have any Flex experience. I might be able to figure it out but I have no idea what to do to start, if this is even the right software to be using. I don't even have any Adobe software running on here because I am in Fedora.
Thanks =)
Ryan
