ejabberd is not starting

hey

i just installed ejabberd, entered correct info in the config file.. when i check the status, i get this:

The node ejabberd@mail is started with status: started
ejabberd is not running in that node
Check for error messages: /var/log/ejabberd/ejabberd.log
or other files in that directory.

whats the problem? how do i change it ejabberd@localhost or the correct node?
