User Presence

Hello,

I have an OpenFire (v3.6.4) sitting internal, and an ejabberd server (v2.1.5) sitting external. I want to show a group of OpenFire users on the ejabberd server, for external contractors to view and chat with. Using mod_shared_roster, I have the names I need; however the user presence doesn't' seem to be working, as none of them show "online".

Is this even possible? If so, is there a configuration fix for this or a mod to install? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Anthony

Presence is a reciprocal

Presence is a reciprocal relationship. Local and remote users must be in each other's roster, and sharing presence, in order for ones to see the presence of the others.

Thanks!

Interesting. So my remote users will have to add my local users in order for the to see who is currently available? Thank you!

Is there any way that allows any user (from any or specified set of servers) see the presence of users registred at my server?
Users from other servers don't need to subscribe for this presence, but only temporary getting presence status (by sending a Probe request for example).
