Need help/advice with mod_shared_roster tuning (or even hacking :))

Hi people,

Could anyone point me how can I set up mod_shared_roster to make the following:
At present people are added to roster and shown to user as jids which is not very pleasant way of presentation.
Is there a way to configure this module to show up 'cn' field instead of 'uid' (i.e. 'LastName FirstName') by default?

The Jabberd 1.4 has this feature implemented through global.xdb file:
<user jid='vpupkin@local.jabber.serv' name='Pupkin Vasily'/>
This method works with every client we've tried :)
