SSL Certificate has expired, how do I regenerate a new one and use it?

My SSL Certificate has expired, how do I regenerate a new one and use it?

I've created a new ejabberd.pem file, and when I try to use the new one, no connections can be made.

Are there any instructions on how to use a new cert, or a FAQ I can be directed to?

I'm using ejabberd 2.1.5 on Ubuntu 10.10

Thanks for any guidance.

First of all what client are

First of all what client are you using? Some clients simply won't accept expired certificates, while others will just complain and allow you to accept the bad cert.

So no connections can be made is not clear enough.

Please turn up your loglevel and attach your ejabberd.log with the relevant information out.

Also, are you using a self-signed certificate? If so, please search google for "how to create self signed certificate" and follow those instructions to create a new one.
