I want to setup mysql with ejabbered ,kindly confirm if i can do it only doing configuration in ejabbered file or do i need to compile ejabbered as well.. i am on windows machine

The ejabberd Windows installer contains Erlang, ejabberd and the erlang drivers for MySQL. So, you only need to have the MySQL server running, and spend some time configuring ejabberd.cfg
