Hi,
is it currently possible to have one shared roster group across virtual hosts ?
e.g. i'm currently running ejabberd with the domains sphene.net and goim.us ..
i'm having
but i would like that they have my contact in their roster with a shared group..
i have to enter the full JID into the shared groups member field...
but it doesn't seam to work to just enter
so .. is there a way ? and is it planned to work one day ?
thanks in advance & cu
Herbert Poul
It seems not possible currently
e.g. i'm currently running ejabberd with the domains sphene.net and goim.us ..kahless@sphene.net .. while most of the users of my IM are by default registering @goim.us accounts..

I tried it, and everyone on goim.us will be able to see you, but you will be always offline. The SRG you defined adds your JID to their rosters, but your presence is not sent to them.
Allowing that would put your privacy on the hands of the other virtual host administrator. Note that on a server with multiple vhosts, each vhost can have a different admin, and the admin of a vhost may not be admin of other vhost. If ejabberd allowed the admin of a vhost to violate the privacy of any user on other vhost... that would be considered a bug, not a feature, right?

Not that I'm aware.

I don't know, but it would be nice if the server administrator can enable an option on SRG to allow their vhosts administrators to 'violate' the user's privacy across different vhosts. That would be acceptable if the same person administrates all the vhosts, like on your case.
