Install ejabberd on a dedicated server

I would like toinstall ejabberd on a dedicated server in order to open a pubblic server like jabber.ru

What should i ask the ISP in order to get it running ? (for example: port to open, lib to install ...)

is this Machine ok for installation?

Required ports: 5222 and 5269
Optional ports: 5223 (for old SSL) and 5269 (for web admin)
