How do I configure yahoo transport? [solved!]

I've got ejabberd working and decided to use Coccinella as our main clients (love that whiteboard!) ... anyway I'm thinking about using coccinella to be able to login to other im's too like yahoo messenger, so that I won't be opening up gaim anymore just for yahoo.

just finished this tutorial:
http://www.ejabberd.im/install-obsolete-transports

and I could see [{hosts,"yahoo.adminserver",[{password,"secret"}]}] on port 5236 at the web frontend... (adminserver is the domain name of our ejabberd server)

as for the yahoo-jabber.xml... it's sitting untouched on /etc/jabber/ (copied from the source), I don't know how to configure that.

I'd like to be able to see the transport thru coccinella but I just can't see it on the 'Disco' tab ... how do you detect & add new yahoo accounts here anyway??

Help!

Did you went through step 2?

Did you went through step 2? Especially look at point 3 and 6.

Oops, missed a step.

our ejabberd just went live now but without the yahoo transport ... anyway I could edit this later.

I changed yahoo.SERVER.COM into yahoo.adminserver , and left the SECRET as is ... what's the secret for? I mean what password should I use for that?

edit: just restarted our ejabberd, looking at coccinella I see no transport service ... looks like it's never discovered yet... I wonder how to discover it ..?

my listened ports now has 5050:
[{host,"yahoo.adminserver",[{password,"secret"}]}]

SECRET needs to be the same

SECRET needs to be the same as in ejabberd.cfg, otherwise ejabberd will not allow the component to connect.

secret

Oh, ok ... I put on the same password then .. I've restarted the server and I still can't discover it via coccinella ...

Are there any logs, errors or easier clients to discover the yahoo transport?

Is the Yahoo-transport-2

Is the Yahoo-transport-2 running and did you checked the Yahoo-transport-2 logs?

Yahoo!

Looks like it's not running and I missed a few steps, the yahoo transport seems to appear now on our clients... but I've yet to configure it well so that every user can logon using coccinella instead of gaim.

Thanks for the help!

Ouch, I can logon using the

Ouch, I can logon using the transport but could'nt send any messages.. I just remembered our ejabberd server does not have a public domain name... =(

or maybe a misconfiguration again on my part?

Edit: nevermind, it's all fixed afterall... it looks like using 'message' does not work for YM, I should've used 'chat' instead.
