building ejabberd from source on darwin (aka. Mac OS X)

i've been attempting to build ejabberd on darwin 8 (Mac OS X 4)

it configures fine, but the first compile fails when linking because -shared is not supported. after some research on the web i found the following bugzilla report:

http://lists.jabber.ru/pipermail/ejabberd/2005-November/001473.html

which links to some external patches. they seem to work, but still produce many warnings, like "Warning: variable 'Request' is unused" which makes me doubt their effectiveness.

i see there is an offical binary download for Mac OS X with a GUI and all, but i just want to compile the command line app from darwin (Mac OS X without the GUI.) could someone please release the necessary pathces used for the offical binary build for Mac OS X, or integrate them into the source distrobution?

my final goal is to create an ejabberd port under darwinports, so Darwin and Mac OS X users can easily install ejabberd from source!

any thoughts?
