I was having a discussion recently about ircds, and ejabberd came up.
Do you (the developers) consider the irc transport built into ejabberd as an ircd?

The IRC transport in
The IRC transport in ejabberd is not an ircd, but an IRC client. You can use it to connect to IRC channels using only a Jabber client.
However, I have hacked to ejabberd that makes it behave as an ircd. It's not complete (and I don't intend to make it so), but it's good enough to join Jabber chatrooms.
