I just installed the PPC server using the supplied OS X installer, and it seems to go through the motions just fine.
However, the prefpane doesn't work at all when it's installed in /Users/~/Library/PreferencePanes, but it does show up in System Preferences when you put it in /Library/PreferencePanes.
But clicking on the icon makes System Preferences Crash.
Console tells me systempreferences exited abmormally: Bus error. There is much more in the Crash Reporter log, but I thought I would wait to post that.
This was a very new, almost pristine new user on 10.5.5 and the latest Java update applied (this morning).
Any help?

Are you speaking about the ejabberd 2.0.2 installer? Then why do you mention Java?
ejabberd doesn't need Java, it uses Erlang. In fact, the ejabberd 2.0.2 installer from ProcessOne doesn't need you to install Erlang/OTP, as it is included in the installer.

I run the installer, and when I open System Preferences, I get this from the console:

So I move the ejabberd.prefPane from /Users/tagadmin/Library/PreferencePanes to /Library/PreferencePanes
I then launch System Preferences, click on the ejabberd item, and console reports:

So I was wrong about the Java problem, but either way, it still crashes on attempt to open the Preference Pane.
Any ideas?

Is there a way to start ejabberd 2.0.2 on 10.5.5 without using the prefpane...or is the prefpane fixable?

I just tried the 2.0.1 version. Same exact issue.
Nobody else is having this problem? Or is anyone else even using this? Forums don't seem like they get a lot of use.
